The GPSA grants process has been designed to be easy for students to receive funding, while at the same time giving students the opportunity to learn how to write an effective grant proposal. To successfully apply for a GPSA grant, all applicants should:

1. Attend a funding workshop to learn how to write a persuasive proposal and effective budget.
2. Review the grant's scoresheet to understand how your grant will be reviewed and scored by readers.
3. Read through our common questions page.
4. Understand the grants process and bylaws.

Scoresheet

Understanding the scoresheet used to evaluate grants is crucial to writing an effective proposal. Readers will score your grant based on this rubric, so touching all the points of the scoresheet will increase your changes of receiving funding. Many funding decisions usually come down to the difference between a few points.

Applicant Funding Workshops

There have been updates made to the scoring rubrics and requirements for the Professional Development Grant, the Student Research Grant, and the Graduate Scholarship Fund. All applicants are HIGHLY encouraged to attend a training this Spring prior to applying. Dates are listed below, and all graduate students are welcome to attend any of these sessions. In general, attending an applicant funding workshop is a great way to learn about our grant requirements, our scoring process, and how to write a successful proposal.
